Trader Joe’s Love
Make no mistake about it, I love Trader Joe’s! This is today’s Keto Grocery Haul From Trader Joe’s!
Before I started eating keto, I loved Trader Joe’s but it wasn’t because of the fresh vegetables, spectacular service and fun atmosphere they have. It was for all the reasons I needed to lose weight anyway – they have the best tasting snacks, candy, chocolate, cakes and Jalapeño Limeade you could ever imagine. Yes, I said Jalapeño Limeade and it’s absolutely fantastic! (But not for a diabetic who is trying to avoid sugar and carbs)
Today’s keto grocery haul was to help me meal prep for the rest of the week (I’m making Keto Taco Soup as I write this) and can’t wait to eat it throughout the week! Before getting to Trader Joe’s I had loaded up on meat at Sam’s Club, though I still bought some meat at Trader Joe’s as well.
When I first started on Keto, one of the first things I googled was “keto friendly at Trader Joe’s.” I was looking for low carb options that I liked. So many of the keto sites I had found talked about ingredients I had never even heard of, lots of supplements and I was super confused. I wanted real food options, at least to get started on keto.
Trader Joe’s Keto Grocery Haul
Today’s grocery haul was rather standard for me. I keep a grocery list on my phone of keto friendly items that I can find at Trader Joe’s. Another list for Sam’s Club and another for Publix. But honestly, it’s not too often I run to Publix for anything (it’s the closest to me).
Keto Groceries From Trader Joe’s
Ground Beef 80/20
Shredded Sharp Cheddar
Peppered Sliced Salami (great for snacks!)
Frozen Riced Cauliflower (they were out of fresh)
Diced Fire Roasted Tomatoes with Chile’s (hoping this is like Rotel)
Free Range Chicken Stock
Alkaline Electrolytes Water
Grand Total: $70.48
The pot roast was $13.63, but should last me 3 or 4 meals and honestly the only reason I bought it was because I’m craving cauliflower “mashed potatoes” and what goes better with mashed potatoes than pot roast?? The Hot & Spicy Taco Soup will last four meals. The eggs will last me a week for breakfast and all of the other veggies are great for sides, salads and omelets.
Keto Snacks From Trader Joe’s
Though I only bought the peppered salami for snacks today (I’m cutting out snacking all together), here’s a small list of items I’ve purchased from Trader Joe’s for keto friendly snacks:
Trader Joe’s Frozen Hot Wings (they microwave in 7 minutes)
Sliced Cheeses (their cheese selection is epic!)
Trader Joe’s Thai Lime and Chili Nuts (Almonds)
Organic Peanut Butter (personally, I’m not a fan of all natural peanut butter so I’ve stopped eating peanut butter)
Trader Joe’s Kosher Hot & Spicy Dill Pickle Chips (They are SO Good!!)
Trader Joe’s Organic Kosher Dill Pickle Spears (the pickle juice is wonderful on keto too!)
Most of these items are definitely for small portion snacks, and not meals. Carbs show up everywhere!
