“Living My Best Life Possible” – it’s a phrase I see on a ton of Instagram and Facebook profiles these days. What does it mean to live your best life possible? Have you ever wondered what it would actually look like if you tried living in such an ambitious way?

Why is it even considered ambitious to live your best life possible?  Shouldn’t that be something we all strive for?

For me, I truly believe we are created and designed for greatness.  But sadly, most people shy away from living to their fullest potential.  Many get caught up in routines and a way of life that leave them feeling like a life of Joy is simply not in the cards for them and is something that only others can experience.  They don’t feel worthy of a life of joy, happiness and excitement.

But you are!  You are worthy of totally living the best life possible!

Your life and the way you live is determined by the choices you make.  You can either be intentional in what you do or reactive to the circumstances and situations you are faced with.

These 30 tips are here to help you as you choose to proactively live your best life possible.

1) Take Responsibility For Your Life
Plain and simple, you get to choose the life you live.  The choices you make surrounding how you spend your time, how you react to the circumstances around you, how you proactively design your life and how you feel about yourself are completely up to you.

YOU get to decide what your life looks life.  There’s no time for the blame game – what your life looks like and the life you live is completely your choice.

2) Notice What Makes You Feel Alive
Take some time away from all the hustle and bustle of life and take notice of what makes you feel alive.

What excites you? What invigorates you?  What makes you feel most alive?  What brings you joy, laughter and makes you smile the most?  Ge intentional in scheduling more of these things into your life.

It’s not an accident that I’ve spent most of my summers at the lake and the beach.  I love being out on the water with friends and people who make me smile.  It’s not an accident I moved to a community right next to Disney World.  It’s not an accident that I get to see fireworks a few nights each week.  And it’s no accident that I’m involved with some volunteer groups giving back in areas that truly make me happy.  Intentionally surround yourself with situations that bring more Joy into your life.

3) Set Goals – And Go After Them!

Many people set goals, but few truly go after them.  And when I say go after them, I mean go after them with all of your might.

If you have goals and a direction you want to go in, they should have purpose and meaning and if they have purpose and meaning, they are worthy of your time and effort.

Going after your goals is exhilarating and exciting!  You feel accomplished and satisfied.  When your goals are tied to your purpose and joy and you’re intentionally headed in that direction, it’s fun making them happen.

Nobody seems to enjoy dieting, but the weight loss journey I’ve been on has been fun, exciting and  invigorating because it’s a goal based on my purpose and calling.  There’s great reward and satisfaction when you go for your dreams with all of your might!

Your Best Life Is Full Of Gratitude

4) Express Gratitude
I’ve never seen a person who constantly complains be a person who was full of Joy and life.  And I’ve never seen a person who always expresses their gratitude not be full of Joy and life.  Happiness abounds in these people!

A great exercise to do is to get a journal and write out 100 things in life you are grateful for.  Just write out a list of 100 things you are grateful for. This will help you to begin looking for things in your life to be thankful for.  And guess what, you’ll find them!

Learn to speak your gratefulness.  As you look for details of life you are grateful for, express your thanks and gratitude.  I love telling people how much I appreciate them and how grateful I am that they are in my life.  It makes them feel like a million bucks and it makes me feel good in the process.  It’s a win-win!

5) Impress Yourself, Not Others
For some reason we spend way too much time trying to impress others who, in reality, are not even thinking about us at all.  Learn to impress yourself!  Find ways to push through your fears, expand the limits you think you have and challenge yourself to go beyond what you feel you can accomplish.

By pushing yourself, you will be impressed by how far you’ll go.  Don’t settle for the mundane when you can live a life of excellence!

6) It’s Okay To Fail
This tip on living your best life possible is intentionally next to the tip about pushing yourself beyond your limits.  When you begin playing bigger, taking more risks and expanding your horizons you’re going to experience some failures along the way.

It’s okay to fail – this does not make you a failure! It simply means you tried something new and discovered a way that does not work.  Learn from it, but do not allow it to make you gun shy from trying again.

Successful people fail and fail often.  Remember, Instagram and Facebook are the highlight reels that you see.  Others fail too!  It’s the only path that leads to success.

7) Believe In Yourself
You’ve got to find a way to believe in yourself.  Believe you are worthy of success, greatness, happiness and Joy. You were created for greatness and have it in you to live your best life possible!

You have to believe it’s possible, that life is there for the taking and that you can accomplish and make happen anything you want to happen.

If you doubt yourself, it’s impossible to succeed.  If you don’t believe you are worthy of success, it’s impossible to succeed.  If you don’t think you have it in you, you don’t.

But with a true belief in yourself, you become unstoppable!

8)  Surround Yourself With People Who Love Life
Be intentional with the people you spend your time with.  Some people pull you down while other people will lift you up.  Surround yourself with people who will speak life into you, encourage you and who inspire you.

Some people will remind you of your past and all of the mistakes you made.  Other people will speak of dreams and direction and see the potential you have.  People like this typically love life.

When you’re around others who love life, it’s rather infectious.  Choose your friends wisely.  They deeply impact your life.

9) Make People Smile
Have you ever noticed that when you’re around people who smile, you begin to smile?  Have you ever noticed that when you smile, others around you smile. Not only that, the physical posture of a smile can change your attitude, mood and turn around a bad moment.

If you’ll go through your day looking for ways to make other people smile and ways to be a bright spot in their life, you’ll soon find yourself around people who also do the same for you.  Being a joy to be around attracts awesome people into your life!

10) Create A Bucket List – And Book Your Trip!
How many times have you said “I want to go there!” but you did absolutely nothing about it?  Create a bucket list and then start checking off the travel destinations.  People who are living their best life travel to the places they dream of going.

Travel creates a deeper appreciate of the world, it helps expand our understanding of the world around us and it definitely gives us more to be grateful for.

Go experience the world!

11) Look For The Beauty Around You
Too often our everyday world becomes mundane and ordinary.  Look for the beauty in the world around you.  We see what we look for.  If you look for beauty, you’ll find beauty.

Even if you’re not in a financial position to travel the world, you can begin living your best life possible by exploring more of the area that you currently live in.  Do you always take the same routes?  Do you ever venture out of the same neighborhoods you frequent?  You can see more of he world by being intentional within your own city!

12) Spend Time Serving Others
When you spend time serving others and giving back, you are able to get outside of yourself and give back to the greater good.  The great news is that you can find ways that are uniquely you to give back.  When you’re serving others you’ll find that you are truly living your best life possible.

This basically comes down to how you love people and connect with others.  You’ve got to show those around you love, respect and generosity.

13) Savor The Moment
Take time to enjoy the moments.  Living your best life sounds pretty amazing doesn’t it?  But it can only be appreciated if you take the time to enjoy the moments along the way.

Sometimes when I’m out at the beach, or even out for a walk, I find myself zoned out listening to a podcast or a playlist instead of taking the time to soak in the beauty that’s around me.  It’s always important to savor the experiences that you’re involved in.

14) Do Not Procrastinate
Procrastination creates overwhelm, regret and remorse.  When you put off items on your bucket list, to do list or even your chores list you miss out on the feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction.  Feeling accomplished and satisfied is a big part of living your best life!

15) Laugh Often
Whatever you do, make sure you put yourself in situations where you laugh a LOT!  I don’t know about you, but I have certain friends who make me constantly laugh.  I LOVE being around these people.  Funny movies, comedy clubs, even laughing at myself!

“Laughter is good medicine” is an old saying that comes directly from scripture.  Psalms 17:22 says “A Joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.”

16) Stay Active
Don’t be a couch potato!  And don’t spend all day sitting at your desk or in Starbucks sipping on your favorite latte.  Get out and enjoy the world around you!

Find activities that you enjoy and schedule them into your lives.  My daily morning walks started my journey to an active lifestyle, but when I first started, I could not even walk for 5 minutes without having to stop and take a break.  At this point, I walk over 5 miles each day, many of which have been in my favorite place, Disney World!

Get moving.  Stay active.  Get your heart beat up and soak in all the beauty this world has to offer!

17) Eat Healthy
I grew up in the South where each meal contained fried foods, lots of bread, lots of potatoes and extra servings of pecan pie.  The tea was as sweet as molasses – Southern comfort food at it’s best! And eventually, all of that caught up with me and almost killed me.  Literally.  The doctor told me if I didn’t lose weight it was going to kill me.

I had gone to the gym for years and had walked, but nothing changed with my health until I began to eat healthy.  Food is fuel.  I’ve actually found that eating healthy is a lot cheaper than eating junk food, too.

18) Stay Hydrated
Most people do not drink enough of water. There are all kinds of guidelines out there which talk about the amount of water you should consume, though not a lot of studies that prove any of them to be true.  The one I live by is by drinking 1/2 my body weight in ounces.  And yes, that is a LOT of water for me.

19) Never Stop Learning
Living the best version of you involves always learning, expanding your knowledge and skills.  Take a class that you’ve always wanted to take.  Even better, teach a class – you learn so much by teaching material!

For me, I schedule time and budget money for my education.

20) Your Past Doesn’t Define You
When you’re living your best life possible you will have people trying to remind you of where you came from or the mistakes you once made.  Keep in mind, your past does not define you.  Your past does not limit you.  Your past is not a prison to live in.

YOU get to decide where you’re going and what your future looks like.  Living your best life possible is future facing, it’s not romanticizing your past successes and remembering them as the “good ole days.”  The best is yet to come!

21) Find Your Purpose
What’s your purpose?  What’s your calling in life?  If you don’t know, figure it out!

Living outside of your purpose and calling is not fulfilling, it leaves you wanting more, it leaves you unsatisfied, but when you are living within your purpose, and completely living out your passion, you truly feel like you’re living your best life.

22) Break Through Your Fears
Living behind a wall of fear kills the spirit.  When you allow fears to keep you from going after your dreams or from taking action you find yourself living in a box you were not intended to live in.

Break through your fears, face them,  challenge them and then be amazed at how far you can go!  Challenge yourself to okay with being uncomfortable in order to push past some fears that keep you from living your best life possible.

23) Ask For What You Want
It’s like this, you have to ask for what you want in order to get it.  I believe one of the biggest aspects of asking for what you want is learning how to break through the fear of asking and still asking even when you’re in fear.  It’s realizing you are worthy and living your best life involves taking the risk of rejection to get to where you want to go.

24) Push Yourself To Become Better
Potential is a horrible thing to be wasted.  Don’t live your life with a ton of wasted potential, push yourself to become the best version of you possible.  Create new habits, schedule more opportunities to serve, find people to encourage and look for ways to push yourself out of your comfort zones.

Theres’ a LOT of tips here that will help you live your best life, but you will have to make some changes and improvements to your life if you’re not currently able to say you are living your best life possible.

25) Be You!
How is “Be You!” listed right next to “Push Yourself To Become Better?”  You can 100% be you and still get even better!  Stay true to who you are, to your beliefs, wear your quirks and uniqueness with pride!  You are YOU!  So be you and shine bright!

When you feel like you have to conform and fit into the same mold as everyone else, you’ll never be able to live your best life.  When you embrace your uniqueness, quirks, passions and calling and let them shine, you’re able to truly be the best version of you possible!

26) Learn To Listen
You’ve probably heard the saying “God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason – so we can listen more than we talk.  If you spend more time listening in conversations instead of talking, you will learn so much!  People will also be drawn to you.

There is definitely an art to listening and some of the most intriguing people I’ve ever met have been incredible listeners.

27) Keep It Positive
I’ve been around positive people and I’ve been around negative people.  It’s kind of obvious that most people prefer to be around positive people.  And it’s also obvious that you have to be around yourself 100% of the time – so doesn’t it make a lot of sense that you’ll enjoy being around yourself a LOT more if you learn the art of positive thinking?

Complaining, thinking negative thoughts, always finding fault, tearing others down – it drains you.  Positivity gives you energy.  You’ll live your best life by keeping it positive.  You’ll see you are a being a bright spot.

28) Be A Bright Spot
Decide to be a bright spot in this world.  Let’s face it, there’s plenty of gloom, doom and darkness around us in the world these days.  Decide to be a bright spot, a light, a breath of fresh air.

I don’t know about you, but being a bright spot brings energy, enjoyment and the warm fuzzies.  I’m convinced as long as I am being a bright spot in the lives around me, I’m able to live my best life.

29) Don’t Take Yourself Too Seriously
Uptight people aren’t happy people.  People who can’t laugh at themselves aren’t happy people.  People without a sense of humor when it comes to themselves – they aren’t happy either.

Learn to laugh at yourself and never take yourself too seriously.

30) Expect To Win
Most people seem to go through life expecting bad thing to happen to them.  They expect to lose.  People who are living their best life expect good things to happen – they expect to win.

When you expect to win at life, you play the game of life differently.  You have more confidence, you take more risks, you play at a higher level and you win!  Those who expect to win, win.  If you expect to win at life, you sure will live in a different way than if you expect to lose!
